The short answer
How to sell event tickets from Claude or ChatGPT.
Connect a ticketing MCP server to your AI, sign in, connect Stripe, then describe the event and confirm the price list. Buyers pay on a checkout page, not in the chat.
With Presso Events, the server is https://events.pressonetwork.com/mcp. It costs a flat 1% of ticket sales, VAT included; free events cost nothing, and Stripe charges its own card fee. Ticket money goes to your own Stripe account.
You: Set up our product summit on 12/03/2027. 50 early bird at £150 and 150 standard at £220.
Claude: Here's what I'll set up. Nothing goes on sale until you confirm.
| Ticket | Price | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| Early bird | £150 | 50 |
| Standard | £220 | 150 |
Where is it? I won't fill in a venue you haven't given me.
01How to do it
Four steps.
Add the connector to your AI
In Claude, add a custom connector with the address below; Claude Desktop and claude.ai both take it. In ChatGPT, custom MCP servers are available on Business, Enterprise and Edu, on the web. Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients take the same address.
https://events.pressonetwork.com/mcpSign in and connect Stripe
Sign in with a passwordless code; the first sign-in creates your organisation. Then connect the Stripe account you already use, or create one. You are the merchant of record, and payouts run on your own Stripe timetable.
Describe the event
Say what you are running, in plain words. The AI asks for the venue, the tickets, the prices and the refund policy one question at a time, because the server will not let it guess any of them. The event is created as a draft.
Set up my first event on Presso EventsConfirm, publish, share the link
Before anything goes on sale, your AI reads every ticket name, price and quantity back to you and waits for your yes. Then it gives you the public event page to share. Buyers pay on that page, and each one gets a ticket, a check-in code and the event app by email.
02What it does
What it can do from the chat.
Set the event up
Create the event, ticket types and prices, the agenda, speakers, stages and sponsors, and the attendee app sections.
Sell and report
Publish after your yes, give you buy links for your own website, and report gross, platform fee and net per currency.
Run the door
Open the door screen, check a ticket in by its code, and find someone by name when a ticket will not scan.
Look after buyers
Issue free tickets, move a ticket to somebody else, refund an order in full or in part, and export your attendee list.
Every capability is a tool on the live server. See all Presso Events tools.
03The limits
What it cannot do, by design.
Enforced on our servers, not requested in a prompt. How the AI works
- It cannot invent a price, a venue or a refund policy. The server refuses the call.
- It cannot publish without reading the full price list back to you and getting a yes.
- It cannot see another organiser's events, sales, buyers or payouts.
- It cannot move money. Buyers pay your own Stripe account directly, and Presso never holds it.
04Questions
The honest answers.
Can Claude or ChatGPT sell tickets on their own?
Not without a ticketing system behind them. The AI is the way you run it; the ticketing, the checkout and the money are on the MCP server you connect. With Presso Events, the server holds the events and tickets, and buyers pay through Stripe into your own account.
Do my attendees need Claude or ChatGPT?
No. They buy on your public event page, pay by card, and get an email with their ticket, a check-in code and a link to the event app, which opens in the browser.
Does the buyer pay inside the chat?
No. Card checkout happens on Presso Events, through Stripe, not inside the chat. Your AI can create a hosted Stripe Checkout link for one buyer if you need to send one.
Which AI plans does this work on?
Any assistant that supports custom MCP connectors. In ChatGPT, custom MCP servers are available on Business, Enterprise and Edu, on the web, and on Business only workspace admins and owners can add one. In Claude, add it under Settings, then Connectors. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini and Windsurf take the same address.
What does it cost?
A flat 1% of ticket sales, VAT included, taken as each payment passes into your Stripe account. Free events cost nothing. Stripe's card fee is separate and paid to Stripe. There is no setup fee, subscription or contract, and no booking fee added to your attendees.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
The rules that matter are enforced on our servers, not in a prompt. A ticket needs a price you gave or an explicit "this one is free", an event cannot publish without dates, a venue, a refund policy and real tickets, and publishing needs the price list read back and confirmed. Nothing is on sale until you say yes.
Is Presso Events the only way to do this?
No. Other ticketing platforms publish MCP connectors too: in our own web search on 01/11/2026, Ticket Tailor and ThunderTix both did. Compare the platform fee as a number, whose account the money lands in, who owns the attendee list, and whether the AI can publish without your confirmation.
Can I still see everything on a web page?
Yes. The Event Portal at my.presso.events shows every event, ticket type, sale and attendee, reading the same data your AI writes to.
